One of the ingredients that we usually include in our dishes are the tomatoes. Most of the time, they go along with garlic and onions just like in cooking scrambled egg. They are also one of the ingredients in some soups.

The tomato is actually a fruit although a lot of us considers this red fruit as a vegetable. In Hindi, it is known as tamatar while in Bengali it is called as toamaatar and as Rama Mulaga in Telugu.

The tomato fruit is also a source of dietary fiber, protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin B1 or thiamine, Vitamin B3 or niacin, and Vitamins B6, C, E, and K. It is also a source of mineral nutrients such as magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, and potassium.

The tomato fruit is not just good for the heart. It is also essential for the eyes. Its Vitamin A, niacin, flavonoid B complex, and thiamin content make it a super fruit that could help keep the eyes healthy and drive away threats of eye problems.

Moreover, it is also good for the bones as tomatoes also contain calcium which is essential in building strong and healthy bones and as well as teeth. It can also help in the building of muscles and repair of cells as it is an excellent source of protein.

There are actually lots of other benefits that we can obtain from the tomato fruit aside from the fact that it can help keep the heart healthy. It truly deserves a place in our diet.
