Jack the Black vom Muehlra set a record for being the fastest dog to retrieve a person from water. According to Guinness, with a distance of 25 meter, the record-holder dog was able to retrieve the person in as fast as 1 minute 36.812 seconds.

The handler of the fastest dog to retrieve a person from water was Hans-Joachim Brueckmann. The event happened at Kaarster See lake in Kaarst, Germany last June 11, 2013. Currently, the Newfoundland dog remains the title-holder.
