Electrial Engineering board topnotcher succeded beyond hardships
Edilbert Tandaan, the board topnotcher of this year’s Electrical Engineering Board Exam managed to succeed despite all the difficulties he encountered.
Since the time that he was studying, things were never been easy for him.
However, he did not stop fighting and still continued to hope that he will be successful someday.
Now, being the board topnotcher, he will going to have more opportunities for his family.
His parents separated when he was still young said in a report of ABS CBN.
Together with his 3 other siblings, they grew up under the care of their father.
Fortunately, he was able to get a scholarship from Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
Edilbert also experienced hardship during the time that he was reviewing for the board exam.
According to Jesayhiel, the wife of Edilbert, their child got sick when her husband was on his review.
They thought that they might lose their baby.
That is why Edilbert decided to leave his review and go home to see their baby.
“Umuwi siya (Edilbert), sabi niya ‘di baleng hindi makapasa basta okay si baby. Sabi ko maniwala lang sa taas, gagaling si baby, makakapasa siya,” Jesayhiel said in a report.
Edilberto said that he draws strength and inspiration from their child.
He revealed that just by looking at the picture of their baby he can say to himself that he is ready to go on.
The board topnotcher also admitted that even though he can’t say that he is a religious person but he is very optimistic.
Edilbert graduated from Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges in Nabua.
Among the 5000 passers he got the first spot with 91.8% score in the exam.
25 other students from the same school passed the Electrical Engineering Board Exam this year.
Last year, their school got the top 6 and got 100 percent passing rate two years ago.
