5. Oats

A lot of people like eating oats and your diabetic loved one may be one of them. However, not all oat preparations are good for people with diabetes. Meanwhile, worry no more, there is a simple oat recipe that you can prepare for your loved one. The total preparation time is only five (5) minutes and is best for breakfast surprises.

Oats

This oat diet is free from dairy, egg, gluten, nuts, and soy and is low in calories and sodium. It is also low-fat and a delicious vegan food. You just have to prepare the following:

  • 1 cup water or low-fat milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup quick-cooking oats (see Tip)
  • 1 oz low-fat milk for serving
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey, cane sugar or brown sugar for serving
  • Pinch of cinnamon
