Pigs reached America through different means. It was said that Christopher Columbus brought 8 pigs to Cuba at the insistence of Queen Isabella. Another way was when Hernando de Soto brought 13 pigs to Tampa Bay in 1539. It was also said that there was an influx of pigs from England came during the 1600s.
