Armenia: Why Capital City Yerevan Is Called The Pink City?

In Yerevan, the lava rocks bear various shades of pink. They range from light pastels to bright shades and some with a hint of orange. This kind of stone is called tuff, scientifically. This term refers to a “rock made of compacted volcanic ash that was ejected from a vent during an eruption.”
