In 1956, the toy company released a Slumber Party Barbie with a “How to Lose Weight” book in which one of the tips was “don’t eat”. It also included a bathroom scale showing that Barbie is 110 pounds and her height is 5’9”. On the 1/6 scale, she is 35 pounds underweight.
