Kit Kat: The Story Behind The Name Of This Famous Sweet Treat

One theory is that its name was from a club in England called Kit-Cat. It was where in the late 1600s and early 1700s Sir Godfrey Kneller’s paintings of club members hung. Since the club had low ceilings, only paintings of a specific size were accommodated and this was referred to as “kit-cat size”.
