Ladislas von Meduna, a Hungarian pathologist, created the idea that schizophrenia should be treated with chemically-induced seizures. He believed that the said mental illness is rare to those with epilepsy. Meduna also reasoned out that epileptics have better moods after the seizure. He claimed that schizophrenics will be calmer after the seizure.
