The woman behind the best-selling books Bad Feminist and Hunger, Roxane Gay, wrote in 2020 that she had her first student loans more than 20 years ago. Aside from the loan, working at minimum-paying jobs in retail, bartending, and telemarketing also helped her get through college. She went to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Michigan Technological University.
