The variety Ceylon is considered fourth most expensive spice in the world and 80 to 90 percent of this spice circulating globally is from Sri Lanka.

Its scientific name is Cinnamomum zeylanicum, referred also as the true cinnamon is one of the ancient spiced in the world.
