Imitation Crab Generally Contains No Crab, What Is It Made Out Of?
This product can be labeled as “imitation crab,” “crab-flavored seafood” or “surimi seafood”. In Japan, surimi-based products are called kamaboko. Restaurants in the said country would spell crab with “krab” in order to indicate that it is not a real crab but just an imitation.
