Seagram Murals of Mark Rothko: The Intriguing Story Behind These Artworks
It was on February 25 1970 when the nine Seagram Murals of Mark Rothko arrived at the Tate Gallery. A few hours before the arrival of the paintings, his body was discovered dead in his New York studio.
He was an “intensely troubled” artist with dramatic inclination. His death arose thoughts that he might have synced the time of the arrival of his paintings to the time he ended his life.
