Seagram Murals of Mark Rothko: The Intriguing Story Behind These Artworks

This series of paintings was commissioned by the Four Seasons Restaurant in the Seagram Building in Manhattan, based on the article in Artland Magazine. It was puzzling that he accepted this project because he was not a big fan of capitalist America but his paintings were intended to be displayed in the very epitome of America’s capitalism.
