This hotel started its operation in 1945 located in Montgomery, Alabama. In 1951, it has become the first hotel in the said area to open its door for African Americans as guests. Because of this, the hotel became a venue for meetings of Civil Rights leaders. Music icons Tina Turner and B.B. King were able to perform in this hotel.
