Abandoned Airplanes Around The World: Photos & Stories Behind Them

Former general manager for Southeast Asia at a German Fortune 500 company Dietmar Eckell, who is now a photographer, decided to follow his passion for traveling in 2010. Based on the article in Business Insider, the photographer documented abandoned and decaying relics of airplanes.

This plane crashed in 1994 in a Polisario-controlled area of Western Sahara. Eckell found this between Morocco and Mauritania. There were 19 survivors in this plane crash.
