Disposable Diapers
Marion Donovan patented the waterproof “Boater” in 1951. Originally, disposable diaper covers were made with shower curtains. Then, she sold the patent to the Keko Corporation for $1 million. She eventually created an entirely disposable model years after that. In 1961, Pampers was born and Donovan’s creation was credited as the pioneer of disposable diapers.
