Middle Finger

This might be the one of the most offensive hand gestures and its history is also quite vulgar. In ancient times, the Greeks are using this to represent the male organ while the Romans called this the “shameless finger”.

A pitcher for the Boston Beaneaters did this hand gesture for its rival New York Giants in 1886, he was photographed, and that was the earliest documentation of this in the United States.
